SUMMER ’12!

I finally finished my first year at Syracuse. It was great!

I left school on May 10th, but didn’t get home until the 12th, because my flight from Chicago to Denver was late, so my Denver to Reno plane left without me! 😦

As we landed, President Obama and Air Force One were on the tarmac getting ready to take off. It was really cool to see Air Force One up close.

On Saturday, May 12, I went skiing at Alpine. The weather was so nice, I was able to ski in shorts and a T-shirt.

1-25 SU vs. UCONN

On Jan. 25, the Syracuse women’s team played against #3 University of Connecticut, in front of a record home crowd of 4,357. UCONN won 95-54. I shot this event for a video I made in my multimedia class. Below are a few of the photos.

Winter Break 2011-12

During winter break (Dec. 15 to Jan. 17), I went skiing once, due to the lack of snow! I was so sad!

After New Year’s, my family and I escaped the snow-less cold and went to the Bahamas.

Below are a few photos from winter break.

Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl 2011

This was my third year photographing the Bowl, previously the Emerald Bowl. This college football bowl game is sponsored by Kraft, making it the first bowl game to have a cause. The Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl’s purpose is to help fight hunger. They teamed up with Feeding America. Kraft ever so graciously donated almost 21 million meals to Boston, Mass.; Reno, Nev.; and San Francisco, Calif.

On Saturday, January 8th, Boston College went to St. Anthony’s Dining Room, and The University of Nevda, Reno was at Glide Memorial Church where both teams fed the hungry.

The game was the following day at AT&T Park in San Francisco. Nevada ended up beating Boston College 20 to 13.

Jen’s family portraits

Jen asked me to do her family portraits for holiday cards. She was really excited to do this, because she hadn’t had real portraits done. For me, it was a challenge, because I don’t often work with children also, it rained all day, and continued through the shoot, and it got darker than I hoped it would.

Megan and Alaina

I took portraits of Megan and Alaina in this field. I had issues with the lighting because where I wanted them to stand, the sun was right behind them, so I had to add a little fill flash to counter balance the sun.

Jessica and Eric’s Wedding

I attended a wedding this past weekend, and they allowed me to take photos. While they did have their own wedding photographer, it gave me an insight into what shooting a wedding is like.
